Tabasco C-Ration Cookbook
Shane K. Bernard Ph.D. Historian & Curator for the McIlhenny Company (makers of Tabasco hot sauce) kindly provided the following copy of their C-Ration Cookbook.  I hope that you will enjoy viewing this cookbook and remember the McIlhenny Company (Tabasco sauce) who cared about their soldiers over in Vietnam.

Doesn’t this just make you want to run out to the local Army/Navy surplus store to purchase a case of C-rats?

This cookbook was originally posted on http://www.tom.pilsch.com/Vietnam.html (Vietnam War Resources) – a website rich in information about the war and its warriors.

Thank you for taking the time to view this article!  Don’t miss out on the many other stories, pictures and videos available to you on this website (see below).

Baby Boomers almost eliminated racism

I had a brain-fart the other day thinking about how and why the race relations have deteriorated in the U.S. in recent years.  It should have become better when I think back to when I was a kid and how the kids of different skin shades got along with each other.

As I remember it as teens and 20-somethings, what brought us all together, regardless of skin shade was music, and entertainment in general.  We didn’t care what shade of tan Chubby Checker’s skin was, or Otis Redding, Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross or Gladys Knight.  I wasn’t a sports fan of any stripe, but the players were just sports players after Jackie Robinson.

Most people with darker skin tones, acted like people, sure they dressed weird at times, but some of us imitated a bit of their attire as kids do at times.  But the men in entertainment acted like gentlemen (we didn’t yet know about Bill Cosby, [Alexander Scott] or even Rock Hudson).

It almost seemed at the time that people with different skin color had their own sub-culture in their community, the Hunkys lived within a few blocks of all the other Hungarians, same for the Puerto Ricans, the Germans, the Italians and the Africans.  They had their social clubs and block parties, but wouldn’t exclude or even cast an evil-eye on an outsider who happened to live in the next block, or was a guest at their club.

This was all before it became profitable to stir up grievances and extortion became the norm.  All this seemed to happen AFTER King was shot and Jackson, et al, picked up the mantel and twisted it to what we have today.  Obama is simply the end result of all that anger and guilt.  It may get worse before it gets better.

Equal Opportunity Usurpation

The reason why Ted Cruz must be declared eligible is because if he isn’t eligible then neither is the criminal impostor in the White House.

The republicans, never having been known for having a spine or truly standing up as conservatives now fancy themselves as equal-opportunity usurpers, a la Barack Obama.  Since 2008 the American people, elected state and federal cowards officials have had ample fact-based information regarding Obama’s ineligibility, though they tried mightily to scrub any historical, legal, factual, and documented proof of the requirements of Article II, Section 2, Clause 5 of the United States Constitution, case law, and the proof of forgery and deceit in the placement of Obama in the White House.

obama foreign policyAs if that information weren’t enough to show that Obama has no loyalty to the United States, we have his behavior over the last six years and current efforts to aid…

I believe that the RNC and DNC at the highest levels in 2008 were both complicit in shutting down all discussion of Obama’s constitutional eligibility issue in the Congress, Main Stream Media, Print Press, and in the leading conservative Talk Show radio stations. I believe that the RNC and the DNC were complicit in subverting Article II, Section I, Clause 5 of…

I’m a Christian and I think ‘Noah’ deserves a four star review

As usual, the most hyped movie advertisements on TV commercials are the crappiest movies. Good movies do not need the hype.

The Matt Walsh Blog

untitled (37)

On Friday, my wife and I had a very rare date night.

Naturally, we decided to spend it being pummeled by the blaring condescension of the most insipid, absurd, unimaginative, clumsily contrived piece of anti-Christian filmmaking to come along since, well, probably just last week.

In fact, if I learned anything from Noah, it’s this: despite popular perception, you can often judge a book by its cover. Also, giant deformed rock monsters make for awkward supporting characters.

We’ll meditate on that second item in a moment, but it’s the first point that should be especially emphasized.

Christians: you’ll hear people insist that you can’t criticize the movie until you’ve seen it. Noticeably, the loudest voices in this camp are the ones who will (rather coincidentally, I’m sure) profit immensely if you meet their challenge.

Don’t bother.

You can hate this film without watching it, for the same reason…

If the Republicans are going to pander….

Then at least pick a candidate who can win..big.

The GOP have been elevating good looking Republicans over the past decade or more to pander to the groups representing a stark minority within the GOP.  People like; Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, Ted Cruz, Nikki Haley of South Carolina, Herman Cain, Alan West, Michele Bachman, Sarah Palin and others.  These are all good people in their own right.  Some even meet the eligibility requirements to be President of the U.S. and all could certainly do a better job then our current occupant of the White House, in my opinion.

Who I believe could run and win in a big way is the current Governor of New Mexico, Susana Martinez.  I believe this for a couple of reasons.  The first being she holds strong conservative values and made the decision switch to Republican after she had a soul searching.  So she is a decided Republican and she has a proven track record of leadership.

Should Hillary win the nomination, Susana could blunt the feminist attacks that are sure to be hurled at her opponent, and then there is her Mexican heritage with a wonderful Spanish surname.  The icing on the cake is that there is no doubt about her being a natural-born citizen, eligible to serve as Commander-in-Chief.
